BostonBeaconHillHouse_LivingRoom.jpg

Elsbeth

Since us micro-scalers talk about tiny details, I thought I'd share a photo of a 1:48 dollhouse with incredible detail.

I had no idea it was 1:48 until I read the description. Also, I posted a few photos of it here because the Toy and Miniatures Museum web site really does a disservice to photos of miniatures as they seem to display to small on my giant monitor. Is it just me? A shame because their collection is great.

So I saved some photos to post here so folks can really see this house.

Wow, this is beautiful!  You're right; I never would have guessed 1:48.  Look at the turnings on the leg of that sofa!  The statuary!  The candles in the lower right of the picture!  Thank you so much for sharing these.  They are truly inspirational.

I am fascinated by the stitched room sized rug, there is so much detail to look at here, the legs of the sofa are nicely done often on items this small the legs are straight,  I love the little two tier table in the front, the legs are wonderful!

For some reason, I assumed that the rug was printed, but now that I look at it again, I realize it was not.  It must have been done on some very fine gauze.  It is amazing!  I visited the site, and am frustrated that they don't provide more information about the items.

I know! I really find the site is a disservice to their own collection! Their photos are tiny, the information is spread thin if it is there at all. Or hard to find. They need a consultant who collects minis to help them make it usable to their audience. So unfortunate.
