I never thought beyond 1:12 until I saw some great 1:48 scale work at a show. And I had to give it a shot. I fell down the rabbit hole immediately and have yet to get out. I love it. But for ages I thought anything smaller than 1:12 was pointless - also I think laser cutters have made more detail possible and easier to get these days.

Sweet table!  I have that one in 1:24.  It's amazing how much detail gets preserved, even at 1:48!

Gorgeous! And yes laser cutters are certainly the smaller scales best friend.
