I got this cheap table for less than $3 because I thought it had good lines for a Gustavian style update. I spray painted it with Grey Chalk paint, then gave it a black wash to age it. I've aged the handles a little with black but I think I'll add some bronze or something because they are a little non-descript. I might add a white wash later to pick out some details and give a bit more of a chalky finish and I see I have a wonky leg I need to fix, but overall I'm pretty happy with the result. :)

Very pretty. Love how you set the scene with other accent pieces!

Wow! What an excellent transformation Sam! I love all the accessorizing you have going on too. See what magic happens when you find some mini time?!?

Thanks Ladies! :D I have indeed been struggling for mini time but I have a couple of days off now so I'm hoping to accomplish something. I started small to get back into the swing of things.... and re the accessorising... it took literally forever to get that shot because my big oafish hands kept knocking everything over. Particularly the candelabra.. :giggle:

So now it's a $30 Table.......Nice makeover Sam!.......and I'm sure your hands are anything but oafish!

Haha.. hardly! But I know what you mean Mike, some of those prices on Etsy are outrageous for rehabbed furniture. :D

I'd like to see that! I am considering doing this finish to my dining room table and chairs. :D

Isn't it amazing how much more realistic is looks now?  It was fine before, but it looked like dollhouse furniture.  Now I almost did a double-take, thinking it was an inspiration photo from a magazine.   Beautiful job!

It was time-consuming.  It has 2 coats of paint that had to dry 24hours between coats,THEN the wash’s (that I did too light so had to go over it again) THEN the wax that has to be put on to protected it,THEN buffed to a shine the more you buff the shiner it gets.(have a small rotator cuff tear&bad Knees). Your young, you shouldn’t  have any trouble doing it !!! I like how it came out so I would do it again.
