Keifer 1,078 Posted December 3, 2017 I am vaguely familiar with a curio...is it similar to a cricket machine? So you cut the latern shapes with the curio? Those are pretty cool. Quote Link to comment
SewMini 911 Posted December 3, 2017 It’s like a Cricut but made by Silhouette. The silhouette Cameo is comprable to the Cricut. The Curio is more comprable to the Cricut Maker that just came out. It can handle more diverse materials and also do metal etching. This was a test last night I did on some cardstock. Ive been experimenting today with cutiing some other materials I use commonly like mat board but it’s proving to be a bit too much for the Curio. No worries though! It will help me with tons of other stuff :) Quote Link to comment
Debsrand56 1,903 Posted December 4, 2017 Nice! Those turned out beautifully. Have you tested the etching/stippling yet? I'm really curious as to how that turns out. Quote Link to comment
SewMini 911 Posted December 4, 2017 That is my next test. I need to poke around and see if I can get a good design to test out that would look similar to what I want for my Moroccan couch. I also want to test and see if it will cut foam board since the matboard was too much. If it can cut foam board I could switch to that for bases for furniture rather than the matboard. I've still got a lot of learning to do but I really love it so far 1 Quote Link to comment
Guest Posted December 7, 2017 Well done.. these look fab! That's too bad about the mat board but good info, thanks. You could probably cut several cardstock of the same shape and glue them together for a stronger object. Quote Link to comment
