Floor

WyckedWood

Got the wood flooring in now need to figure out what to do with the sides and the area under the floor. Not sure if this will be a kitchen scene or living room ( my original plan) , then I had the thought to just keep it generic and I can change out the scene every week throuhout the season.

That is so cute. What did you end up using for the circular part?

I was thinking, you could change out the wreath as well. Maybe use a willow branch wreath for the other seasons and decorate the wreath accordingly?

I kinda want to do one now....another rabbit hole.

That would be cute. Maybe lavender bunches wired around it for summer.

I ended up using a vintage (I want to say it's 50 years old but I can't remember exactly how old it was) cheese wheel box of all things. It came from Wisconsin. Found it on eBay, there are plenty of them available it's just a matter of finding the right depth and height for what you want. Some are more expensive because they're older or in perfect shape. I only paid around $25 for this one with free ship. It's 6 inches deep and 15.5 circumference. I wouldn't want to do one that's any more shallow than this one, I like this depth, but I mean...it's an old box so measurements aren't exact. I haven't decided how to hang it, probably should have been the first thing to figure out but it could be on a stand too.

I have 2 of the cheese boxes,( didn't know they cost that much). I think the ones I have are bigger I'll have to check.....what a great idea you have for it...... I have a hat box too,now that you got me thinking round !!!

I feel like a hat box might not support the weight of the wreath. My wreath will be pretty heavy when I'm finished with the look I want. But it would be worth a try for sure.

This size cheese box gives enough head room that you could design a second floor, especially if you were using it for a mouse house, which was my original intent.
