Mid-life madness

This is the entire house, minus attic. The left upper room is a future master, to right of the master is a bathroom, then the stairwell hall. To the right is a girl's room.

The kitchen is being remodeled:bigwink:

I am curious.  Are you going to strengthen the foundation of your house?  The picture makes it look like the floor is not supported and sagging.  But that may be just the way the picture makes it look.  Love the Laurel on the front door.

Oh yeah, it is totally sagging! It really looks bad in the picture though! In fact I didn't realize it was sooo bad. I had a minor accident and slipped while I was doing the ceiling electrical, and my forearm braced my fall.. I'm gonna have to shore that up better. The whole house is a tad wonky, like me.:bigwink:

Wow, wow, wow Carrie! This is all looking so awesome! I love all of the papers and colors you have going on - it's a very cohesive home! The light fixtures look wonderful, as does the fireplace and stairwell! You've come up with great solutions to the challenges! Are you sure this is your first house? :cheer:

I agree with Jodi.. you've made fantastic choices with papers and colours.. and your wallpapering looks very professional with lovely straight edges. That's hard to do, to get your papers looking good without using molding to cover up uneven edges. Fantastic job! :)

Is that Dolly Madison up there? She looks like she approves :)  both of my Orchids sagged too..exactly like that.

Yes it is Dolly Madison. I saw your historical society doll, and wanted one. She is so pretty, now I want to build a Barton cottage from Sense ans Sensibility. I think she looks like Marianne Dashwood!

Thank you for all of you kind words.

I love the idea of a Barton cottage.  Now I am going to watch Sense and Sensibility tomorrow.  Such a good show, and maybe if I have 5 hours to spare I will watch Pride and Prejudice for the 100th time.  Sigh.

Are you an Outlander fan?

I have a tradition of watching pride and prejudice whenever I'm shingling a dollhouse, makes the shingling process go by faster :) I want to get the Betsy Ross one and a few others and do a salt box colonial.

Yes, DH and I have been watching Outlander.  Have you read the books?  I was thinking about reading them.

I watched the first season before I read, then found a book in a grocerystore. I read it on the long drive to Texas. The books are awesome/better

I thought I saw Mr. Darcy in the background of one of your pics.
