This fireplace is gorgeous! Bummer about the sconces, Could you take them down and replace with battery lighting? I don't wire so I have no idea what is involved, but it must be frustrating.

Sarah has a good idea.  Could you in fact unstick them from the walls (mine never want to stick that well anyway), snip the wires, and replace them with these sconces?  It seems such a shame, when you've done such a nice job, to not have your work fully illuminated.  (I do see that your other lights work.)

I have spent so much money on those d%^# lights. I bought the adapter things that were suppose to make it easier, not to mention 4 or so sconces that I ruined trying use the adaptor!!!! Yep, it was a dream denied (do you hear the sad violin music in the background).

Those little plug-in adaptors?  I ruined a light with one of those, too.  I was supposed to be stripping the wires, and yanked them right out of the fixture.  AAGHHH!!!!  I really do empathize!

The good news is I learned a lot of new techniques.

I totally understand your frustration.  I have a wall sconce that sometime works and then other time not.  Electricity is such a aggravating portion of doll house building.  But, like you, I am learning and getting more successful at wiring with each house.  They still look nice next to the fireplace even if they don't light up.
