Iris tutorial

WyckedWood

Photo#2

supplies: floral wire, uncovered. #24 is recommended but I happened to have #26 so that's what I'm using for this tutorial, typically this wire will not be seen with your finished flower, whether it's planted or set in a bouquet. I try to arrange my leaves so that the wire isn't seen.

Often a finer gauge wire is needed for flowers, like a #30 which is harder to find and I have to mail order through eBay. So the flowers and plants that use readily available wire, like iris and tulips are always nice.

I keep the wire long, like 2 inches or so length while making the flower and then cut it down to the size I need depending on the scene or bouquet.
