I decided to cut the mattress tonight and fit it to the bed. I completely forgot how I was going to do it. Originally, I was just going to fold back the covering and cut the foam and the board underneath it, then fold and glue the covering back underneath. But of course, when I started measuring the mattress, I forgot to pull the covering back and marked it all up - IN INK! OK, so it's going to be covered eventually, but still!

Anyway, I got the foam and board cut and the covering reglued and here it is. I put some folded paper towels underneath the mattress to lift it and see what it looked like, then I got carried away and put a Kleenex over the top for a blanket. Now I just need some permanent bedding and a big, fluffy pillow!

One thing I noticed is I'm going to need some curtains in the windows if I'm going to keep taking pictures of these little rooms. I had to take 17 alone just to get this one bedroom shot and it's not because they were bad pictures. It was because you could see my big buzzoms in the reflection of the window in all the other pics! Who'd a thunk?

Pretty room!  The bed looks great with its Kleenex spread.  (And you don't even want to know the things I've inadvertently captured while taking pictures of my houses).

Yes, the bed is really nice. It comes in mahogany, white, black, and walnut. And it looks great underneath and when you lift the mattress up as well. I was expecting something cheap and I was surprised by how nice it was. I had to hunt a little on eBay to get the color and price I wanted (there's like a $10 spread on the prices!), but I was happy I got it in the end. I almost was afraid to take it apart, it looks so nice.

There's also the same version of this bed by Reutter, but it has a color patterned mattress and seems to cost more.

If I'm going to leave that Kleenex on that bed for a while, maybe I should cut it straight. LOL
