The bed arrived yesterday and it was too long for the room. I expected that, as no bed currently currently on the market is less than 6" long. But I bought this bed because of its width - only 2 3/4". It needs to fit by the nightstand in 5" of wall space.

But the bed had to be shortened. I pulled out the sides, cut them down, and reglued them together. As you can tell, the bed is now shorter. MY next job is to shorten the mattress.

It looks cute and proportional. I think it would have looked too long before, by the looks of the mattress. An improvement for sure. :)

My Miniature Madness

It looks wonderful with your adjustments! I think older beds used to be shorter back when people weren't giants (my son is 6' 6"). Bespaq's youth beds are like 4-3/4", so there are short ones out there, just expen$ive! I like your solution!
