I've been working on furnishings for the Chanticleer. Besides furniture, I'm making a lot of the accessories because they are hard to find in half scale, and besides, it's fun to do 
I made a second umbrella and a cane for the hall tree. I also made a couple witch's brooms and am deciding whether the knobby stick will be another broom or a walking stick.
The umbrellas are made from toothpicks and paper tape. The broom handles are prunings from real plants (in this case, thyme branches), and I cut up sisal twine and used the fibers for the broom straw and wrapping.
