Settee and Tribal Foxes rug

Great sofa find!  The table actually looks just fine pushed to the side.  We definitely wouldn't want it blocking that beautiful rug!  Gustav has a nice, eclectic mix of furnishings, doesn't he?  (And I know what you mean about finishing--my least favorite part.)

I like this..

It's got a bit of a artistic feel about it.. feels like somewhere a late 60's/early 70's art director/writer would live.  I think it's the combo of the mustard & green velvet, (which I really like together, even though the mustard is a place holder) plus the very sophisticated tribal foxes rug & the modern design aesthetic of the book case that makes me think this...

I usually hate really dislike these Victorian settee's, but the green is really interesting with the very dark wood (is it black?) and the eclectic furniture choices really elevate it to a cool piece.

The wood of the settee is dark brown but not black.  It's not the red mahogany look that many of these pieces have.  I think having one or two antique pieces can be interesting in a modern setting, too.

Small mercies. I used to like mahogany before I got an interest in miniatures.. 

Interesting that you are going with more formal , matched furnishings.  Your eclectic mix of previous photos had so much charm.  Either is well done but the charming set up really caught my eye. It was less predictable and felt like someone had been hunting treasures at flea markets for years.

It will still end up eclectic in my vision for it.  Gustav has inherited some antiques and added a few odd pieces here and there. 

Once again your artistic ideas are amazing.  I just love the sofa and your rug.
