First floor layout

otterine

I rummaged through my stash of furnishings and kits and played with the layout on the main level.  Many of these pieces are placeholders and the final colors and finishes might change.

I had to face facts that the micro mill just wouldn't fit.  Not to worry -- it will find a home even if it's on its own on my bookshelf under a cloche.  But, I've always envisioned Gustav as a dabbler in minis.  Perhaps he works smaller -- maybe he makes birdhouses.

I haven't given up on the tall corner shelf though the tea trolley is also out, and I could add a larger washstand or short cabinet next to it.  I think I will stick with the lighting like this...two ceiling lights and one floor lamp.  I don't have to pick the exact ceiling placement yet.  I'll prime and decorate the first floor before making the final decision, but this photo seems like a winner for furniture placement..

I love the layout, although I'm sad that the micro mill and tea trolley are gone.  I hope they find happy homes elsewhere.  You're probably right to remove them, though, as the layout looks very good like this.

Love the circle library shelf and your door surround trims esp. This is a wonderful room full of great details. . .
