I'm a bit of a weirdo and I'm doing a bit of work in the kitchen before I completely attach the Primrose to the Orchid. I'm doing it this way because it's a bit easier for me to work out the kitchen "cabinetry." Since my house is for display, I'm not really concerned about having working doors and cabinets. With that in mind, I'm making the bones of my cabinets from foam core. I'll cover them with mat board, trim them out like real cabinets and then paint them. In the end they'll look like the real thing. For now, they're just the basic structure.

Not weird at all. Smart way to work, when you have room for your hands before the first floor goes on. Plus you can get a handle on where you will need baseboard etc, without putting it in and then having to rip it out. 

I've built most of the components for my kitchen too and I don't even have any walls permanently up... lol
