Finished the tower trims and roofs on the bay windows. For the roofs I cut new templates out of thin plywood sheets, the parts that came with the kit were a bit too thick for what I was trying to do, I might use those later to try a shingled roof alternative to the tin ones. The roofs are painted "Vintage Grey" Metalic color from Rustoleum with some copper effects dry-brushed around the edges with acrylic paint... sadly I can't manage to capture metalic colors properly in this stormy weather. I might try to 'weather' it a bit further later..

I really like the tin roof effect you have made here. What did you use for the ridges? The scale is perfect.

If this was your first house you really have a talent for this hobby!.... What is your next project going to be?

Thank you! The whole roof is wood, surface is 0.4 mm plywood and the ridges were cut from thin strips of 1mm thick basswood. They are aprox 1x1mm around, and 2.5mmx1mm on the edges around the base.

Not sure what my next project will be, I'm thinking about starting a new dollhouse in 1:12 scale but haven't decided on a kit yet. I've been thinking about maybe getting a Beacon Hill kit, I'm also a big fan of the front opening dollhouses from Corona Concepts but they seam to be out of stock everytime I check.

Each time I look at pictures of this house I have to remind myself that it's 1/24th! Your work shows great skill.

Thank you, smaller scales are a bit of a 'confort zone' for me, I find it a bit more challenging to work with larger details. Was doing some embossed work this week for a roombox ceilling in 1:12 scale and it didn't turn out as well as my smaller work, every detail requires a ton of extra work and I still need a lot more practise. This project gave me the courage to invest in larger scales, probably won't be able to finish a 1:12 house in less than 1 year, but it will be fun having something new to work on :)

Great roofs!  I take it this is what you were spray painting last week?  They turned out very, very well.  As I recall, you were thinking of copper at one point, but I think the tin looks better than copper would have.  It just fits.  Beautiful!

Thanks! Yes, and thanks to a very helpful tip from Sable I was able to save the roofs from "air bubbles of doom" hehe. Finished the last coats just in time before a thunderstorm started, terrible weather to spraypaint. Tried 3 diferent metalic paints, this one seamed like the best match indeed :)
