Glossed window trim.

rbytsdy

This is where I am right now with exterior window trim-- I put strips of balsa on the sides to dress it up a little, in a subtle way. This trim has been joint-compounded, painted and sealed-- this has taken quite a bit of time to execute for all the windows! I am thinking about something extra-- maybe if I can get some copper rod, I can make some sort of curlicue to mount on the face of the curved "hood" piece. That would really take the visual emphasis off the hood, which would make me happier because I really do not like that trim design...

Thanks Irene! It is for an as-yet unborn niece, so I have some time, so piddling around and trying different things with it to "finish" it well... There will be much balsa-wood molding in this house! (I have found that if I paint/stain the balsa and then seal it, it renders a certain amount of sturdiness suitable for molding and non-weight-bearing pieces...)
