Baby Wrens
We had a pair of house wrens make a nest in this bird house in my garden. At first we thought there were three babies, maybe four, but to my utter amazement, this morning 7 baby birds flew away from the nest!
The first baby flew from the nest around 10:30 a.m. and the last left around 1:00 p.m. I followed them around the yard delighting in their antics and watching out for them. The mama was around, but she didn't seem that interested in them. By about 3:00 p.m. they had left my yard and gone out into the big wild world. I wanted to pack them into a little box and feed them, but Brian said no, I had to let nature take its course . . . so hard to do when all you want to do is be a mother!
