I am so excited to see this come together! Its just a shape right now, it will need some trims. I had put the window part together a few weeks ago, and today I realized all I needed was to go get scraps of wood out of my shed and just start. The roof of the dormer was a challenge, got out my protractor for the angle. I have never made a dormer like this before!!! The only thing I have done previously with dormers was to make accurate openings for the Lawbre dormer Ouel De BoeufI [ for my scratch build French Chateau.

This is looking great! How are you making the intricate inner trim?

I am just getting started on the third floor center section, there is not much space for anything up here in these attic peaks of the roof. These small dormers are great but not very functional mainly because they are shallow. But I will be opening up the space behind the dormers so light can come thru. My husband wants me to raise the dormers to be in line with my 1/6 scale James Bond..

And I might do that if that blends with the over all look of the house. But in answer to your question the dormers are braced with trim for strength, that you just wont be able to see the bracing.
