I'm changing the tree making method late in the game, but I found a wonderful tutorial by Connie Sauve on making realistic trees.  This isn't finished since I'm awaiting additional supplies, but I love it do far.  I had to change this from a maple to an ash, but that works for me!  :D It's roughly 19.5 inches tall.  More details on my blog.

Oh Brae...you can change it isn't the last day :).  I like the ash tree I think.  The maple was pretty but Ash is quite pretty too and a different look.  Cannot wait.  Will go to your blog.
