Upstairs landing

Myangela

this is the view from the guest bedroom door, across the second floor landing and into the  study.  The staircase to the right leads to the third floor (more about that later!) and the door (with transom) on the right is the guest bath.

I love it when you had new pictures.  Looks great as always.  Looking forward to seeing your next post.  This house your working on, is it your own design or a kit that you're modifying?  It all looks so original and that you are making most it from scratch is truly inspiring.  I wish I could see it in person.

Thank you, so much, Jodie.  This is a scratch build.  My first project was a refurbish, my second project was a kit (Orchid) that I bashed, just had to.  Was going to bash another kit, but I had to ask myself why not just start from scratch?  It is my own design.  A couple of the doors (ground floor) are from Houseworks, and I'm sorry I didn't build them from scratch, (although, I did bash the front door) but all the windows, all the other doors, stairs, cabinets, bookcases, and wainscoting I did build from scratch.  I fell in love with this hobby.  It's always a challenge, always a joy.  Thank you, again.

You have truley inspired me.   The garfield I'm currently working on is my first build.  I am having so much fun building it.  I'm still going to take the time and finish it the way I invisioned.  But my mind is already working on an idea of building my own from scratch.  I don't know if I have the talent for it but I want to give it ago.  When that time comes I hope I can bug you for advise.  Do you have any online tutorials?

I don't have any tutorials on line.  I used to have one here on greenleaf, but when they updated their software it went into cyberspace, along with so many of the Sims houses I had built over the years!  Scratch building was easier, for me, after kit bashing.  Even the refurbish project, that introduced me this very fine madness, I bashed a bit.  I added an entire third floor and gave it a gambrel roof to accommodate it without adding even an eighth of an inch to its heighth, despite my husband's temporary lack of faith, or vision (jury is still deliberating).

The Garfield is a lovely house.  I'll be sure to keep up with your posts, too!
