Restoration Hardware Kensington Sofa in 1:12 scale

MLI Designs

This sofa was so much work I don't think I would make it again. I still have to add the nailheads to each arm and sew the seat cushions. Otherwise I have admit I am in love with this sofa.

I wanted to create a sofa where 3-4 dolls could sit, very much like my own sofa.

I can't wait until this house is completed so I can create a life around Allie, posting photos on a new Instagram account. And when I'm ready to build a new home, Allie will be investing in vacation homes. I admit it, I'm a little crazy

@Debora59 I used antique bronze jewelry pins. I cut them down.  I just saw a photo of someone who created a magnificent tufted leather chair in miniature and it almost looks like they used the teeny brass nails, like you get with miniature hinges.

Any trouble nailing them thru the wood frame of your sofa?

@Debora59 it was a little bit of a pain. The base/bottom part wasn't so bad. I cut them to about 1/4". I used a clay tool, it's like a sharp long pin, to poke a pilot hole so the pin would slide in easier.

The arms, well not so,easy. I started with a few and immediately became frustrated so figured I would tackle that after a good nights sleep. My fingers were a little cramped from tying all the strings to create the tufting.

I said I would never make it again but now I think I would plus it would go a little smoother since I have an idea of what I'm doing. I have to figure out a way to create deeper tufts.

Your tufts are excellent, I thought the same thing when I did a tufted bench cushion, I want to create deeper tufts next time.
