Redoing the ktichen

Originally, the house was going to have a basement and I wanted that by the back door. So I fit in a very small basement doorway. The basement opening was walled in and I decided to tuck in a small sink with a chopping block next to it behind the basement wall. Because I knew it would be difficult to see into that corner, I also decided to put a large double window in next to the sink.

On the other side of the sink I will have an open cabinet, Between the open cabinet and the cabinet next to the stove, I will run a shelf under the window for an indoor kitchen herb garden. On the other side of the fridge (with a nod to Kathleen Holmes), I would like to put in some shelving for cookbooks and next to that I will still have room for a place to hang aprons and put the red kitchen footstool Lisa gave me. I will still have room for a work table in front of the stove, a hutch against the wall of the basement, and a kitchen table in the middle of the room.
