And more lights!

Myangela

got out the soldering iron today, just had to see what my lighting plan was going to look like.  I took Mr. K's soldering class at the Chicago Show last month.  It was time to try out my new skill in real life!

Looks fabulous!  I love the dark color up top, really balances the look and makes those awesome cabinets pop!

Its so well thought out with amazing results, I wish my real life kitchen looked this good!

Thank you, Debora!  I wish my RL kitchen did, too!  This room ended up being such a long, narrow space, I really wanted to make the most of it.  Trying to get far enough along on the first floor in order to put the ceiling/base for the second floor.  Leaving next week to attend the Guild School in Maine, for the first time, spending the entire week making on a gate-leg table with turned legs.  Hope I don't fall in love with the lathe, don't know where I'd put one!  Although, I'm sure I'd figure out something!

Amy, if you get a chance while you are at the guild school, pop on down to Stonington, I'd love to meet you!!! We are about half an hour from Castine.

I am so envious, I'd love to be able to attend!

Kathi, I'd love to meet you, too.  But I won't  have a car to get around while I'm there.  I'm leaving today (Thursday) and am planning on walking around the little town of Castine on Friday.  The school activities (and meals) don't start until Saturday afternoon, so if you'd like to meet me for lunch either day, let me know!

You will love Castine, there are lots of historical houses to see! Be sure to see the little village green where the historical society is. It's not right in the center of town, so a lot of people miss it. (It's very close to the center). Dyce's Head Light is also within walking distance.

A few years ago, there was a traveling exhibit about Abraham Lincoln, that went to 50 different towns and cities. We were so lucky, because Castine was one of the 50, because of it's historical significance. We went to see it twice. Last year, the Mt Vernon society had a big thing there, which I didn't get to see because I had to keep the shop open. Castine has been under the flags of five different countries, and played a big part in the revolutionary war.

I wish I could get up there to meet you, but I have to keep the shop open. We have such a short season here, and every day matters.
