Need ideas????!!

MLI Designs

Need ideas and inspiration for this house. I can't get myself away from the idea of side windows and a side door (for future side pergola)

Oh, how I do love the demolition stage!  LOL

And you've got to listen to what the house wants!  If it is demanding a side window to let in more light and a side door to go out to the future pergola...then by all means bring on the power tools and begin cutting!  :)

@jbnmini @kathi17 I'm just so nervous I'll screw up the siding. It's so old it would be hard to replicate a match. But I feel there needs to be more light. I might even replace the front door with a single pane door.

If you are doing anything Michelle it needs to be now whilst you have it open........I use a power saw that allows 'plunge' cuts into the surface and the say blades are in several widths right down to half an inch. I've been using these professionally since they were developed.......used to cost around £450........They now cost much, much less........I recently picked up a cordless one for £75.00..........Bosch Cordless Multi Tool or USA equivalent!

These are made for Dolls Housing!

Just a thought...........They don't spin...they vibrate so very, very controllable and you can also get sanding attachments which again work wonders! They even cut 9mm MDF with ease.........draw the line and plunge right in!

I use my hubby's professional Dremel - it has a vibrating straight cut blade like Mike is talking about.  You could mark where to cut, then line the mark with masking tape or painters tape to protect the wood as you make your plunge cuts.

From the pictures, it almost looks like the siding is in sheets rather than individual planks. Is it possible to remove some of them where you will be cutting, then cut the inside walls first and the siding after?

I agree, that rustic siding gives the house an interesting personality that you don't see very often.

@kathi17 yeah, I think I'm nervous because I kind of like the exterior too and it really is in fantastic shape for a 30 year old dollhouse.
