Those floors look good. 

As old and brittle that the wood was I was surprised at the quality of the floor pieces and sanded a bit of

the bottom floor and found it sanded to a smooth surface and retained the darker bits of grain in the wood. 

So I stained it.  I put on a coat of clear finish and it looked good,  I put on 4 more coats of finish, taking the time

to sand between each coat is what I think helped to make the flooring look good enough to use as the floors.
