Pink Embroidered Floral bed

sage minis

I'm not sure if this embroidered tea towel I used was stitched by my grandmother or great-grandmother.  Used this lovely linen tea towel for the headboard, 1 pillow and the top of the coverlet.   Because of age there is some slight discoloration to the fabric.   I love the hand of this linen fabric.

I agree - tiny treasures I'd saved over the years have found their way into various houses.  A vanity stool in the Steampunk house is a pin cushion from the 1800's passed through family.  As is the wooden pin holder in the same house, as a sculpture.  Tiny stone sculptures and pottery were collected from around the country - some since I was a child.  A little Russian stone mushroom was given to me by my first boyfriend in my teens - it moves from house to house at times as a stool.  Christmas ornaments reused as lighting etc.  Even a frayed measuring tape I'd used since I was a child - became a border in Miss Mouse's Sewing room.   It is a great way to bring a special quality into your mini world.  I guess minis were meant to be a bigger part of my world, not just as momentos.
