Master Bedroom bed for Steampunk Manor

sage minis

This bed frame  supports a simple netting canopy.  This was one of the first beds I dressed a year and a half ago.  The heart pillow is a tiny sachet and the lace coverlet is vintage and hand tatted.  I love finding handcrafted items in secondhand stores.  Many of my rugs started as doilies or potholders in RL.

Beautiful.   I used to go to many antique flea markets when we lived in So. California and I always headed to the "quilt lady" and those that sold vintage textiles.   It's great that you are using them in your miniatures.

Thank you.  I'm running out of small bits lately.  Have several larger hand tatted pieces of lace but can't bring myself to cut into them - the workmanship is so beautiful.

So you lived in Ca. too before Wa.  I lived in tjhe S.F. Bay area for many years.

Yes, I think I am still a Californian at heart.   Now we live in Cave Creek which is a town in northeast Phoenix.   I never thought I would live in Arizona but a job relocation got us here almost 20 years ago and now we're planted and are retired!   I miss the ocean a lot so just dream about it when I look over our pool.

We too are retired and moved to Wa. 9 years ago.  Sorry I got mixed up - thought you lived in Wa.  From our house we can see the bay - so I get my  water view fix.  I live very near the Canadian border - so on a clear day can see the Canadian Coastal Mountains in the distance.  I grew up in Michigan - so love the green trees everywhere as well.

So you are a Michigan native too?   We were born and raised in Michigan but left back in '72 and moved to So. California!   I guess I am a sunshine and warm weather person as I always shivered in Michigan and didn't ever miss the bitter cold winters.   Your place in WA sounds idyllic with a view of the sea and the green trees.  I always tell people I meet that Michigan is a great place "to be from"!
