Bathroom

beyondbaffled

I finally did some work on the expanded bathroom for my Country Cottage kit. I used glue dots to place some of my Chrysnbon minis and also put some of my coupon minis in just to see how it all looks. I need to finish my medicine cabinet because the mirror looks kind of lonely just sitting there. I like it, but I still think there is too much white in this picture!!! I'm hoping adding a shower curtain will help. Any ideas on how to make one and what color I should use?

How about a small bathmat and some fluffy towels to drape over the tub and hang on the towel racks that pick up the colors from the tile? Maybe a waste can in one of the tile shades and a plant at the end of the tub to bring greenery into the scene. Maybe a nicely colored tissue box on the back of the commode.

I agree a medicine cabinet would be nice too. If it brought the white up onto the blue tile, along with the colored accessories, it would draw the top and bottom together without adding a whole new theme.

Both mike and Selkie bring up good ideas Jessie. I, too have this paper in this color tile, and I love it, but it can be an overwhelming wall of blue. So, bringing the white up onto the wall with a cabinet, and softening the white tile with some lighter shades of the blue paper like aqua or light blue for towels and mats would give it a more cohesive look. And a hanging plant would add a nice contrasting note, as most plants like the humidity of a bathroom. I just thought of another thing. You might want to try a little skirt around the sink to soften the white further. On the plus side, it can be used to hide your paper towels, like in a real bathroom, or you could put them into a little side cabinet or wire rack. I just don't like seeing them on the bare floor.
