This is a 1:24 scale Bleeding Hearts plant kit by Mary Kinloch available through SDK Miniatures. It was definately a challenge!
At half scale the blossoms are about the size of the capital "O" on the quarter that the pot is sitting on. The blossoms are painted and then gel medium is dotted on each side of the blossom to give it that "puffy" look common to these flowers. Each blossom has to be individually attached to a thread "stem" which is attached to the main stem. The leaf stems are built using two different leaf sizes which I painted in three different colors so that the ends would look like new growth.
The only liberty I took with the kit was to paint the wires and thread maroon rather than leaving them green, because in real life that's the color of the stems for this plant.
This took all day to make, about 6-7 hours.
