Tudor Cottage
From the top you can see the color changes in the blossom and the leaves. The leaves are done in three gradations, with the new (young) leaves at the top the lightest. (The color in this image shifted a little towards orange.) the instructions say to score leaf veins onto the leaves, and I did score them, but it's not very noticeable. What I did do differently was fold the leaves. My RL camellia plant has leaves that look more like this so that's how I did them.
I have seven more to complete affixing the leaves and then I need to think about the plant's structure. This kit comes with a pot to make this a specimen plant, but the camellias I'm familiar with are more like trees or short shrubs, so I'll be thinking about how I might do that with all these branches.
Did I say how much fun I'm having making plants?
