Roof displaying the foam shingles. I bought a couple of sheets of black craft foam at HL. I mod podged one side to seal. Once that dried I painted, and left it streaky, two different shades of gray on top of the black. Once the paint dried I applied mod podge to seal. I would think other sealers would work; I'm just familiar with modpodge. I then measured and penciled the back side with 3/4in tall by 1and 1/2 inch wide tiles. The tiles were easily cut with scissors. Mixed in a bowl and picked randomly to glue. I glued using fast grab tacky directly to the roof. I had drawn 3/4inch lines on the roof. I overlapped the rows about 1/4 inch. Drew a line of glue all the way across the roof, and another line just on the top of the row of tiles already glued down, and applied the next line of tiles all the way to the top. Once I got to the top I had about 1/4 inch all the way across so I just took one long uncut slice of foam and glued it all the way across the very top seam. I plan on applying another coat of mod podge.

It really looks nice, I wonder if it would work well for a slate floor
I had already decided im trying a floor on my next house. And the investment to try it and not like it is minimal. Even a tiled wall might do good too..and definitely lightweight.
