Tudor Cottage

Dalesq

My experiment last night with art paper to create roofing tiles failed its purpose, but it turned out very nice for stone, so I cut it all up for another project this morning.

I was impatient to get started on the roof today, and decided to recycle speed shingle strips that I had on hand. They were left over hex shaped strips from #2 Tennyson Place, so some where painted peach, others were more rust colored and still others were unfinished.

I clipped off the tips of the Hexes to make them more square in shape and gave them all a wash of the Zinc paint. So far I'm happy with the results. This will need some more washes, but I think it's getting to the effect I wanted. Now I've got to order more shingles, LOL!

Are you furnishing this one or adding characters to it?
That's a work in progress. This build was inspired by an image of a real life house I saw. I loved it so much I had to build it.
