Once I made the porch/step railing in the attic it seemed to beckon me to add wainscot wood paneling to the strangely shaped wall near the staircase. I never seemed quite content with this wall using wallpaper and once I added the paneling it made all the difference. This led to some other changes and ideas.....see the following pics!
