This is the glued removable tower roof before any shingles are glued on. I used thin wood strips to reinforce each side and to close gaps instead of using spackle. It will all be hidden once the shingles are on. I'm still undecided how to deal with the very top and whether to put on finials or a weathervane. Right now I'm leaning towards using the finials that came with the kit as they seem to work but I won't glue them on until I'm certain. It's fun to dream.

I like that look as maybe a completely copper roof. Skip the shingles. Looks like it is ready made for it right now with the strips on there. Just a thought.

Hmmmmm, well I already have my bags of shingles for the roof although I guess I could somehow incorporate some copper.  Actually I have some wooden roof ridge pieces that I was thinking of painting copper in conjunction with the shingles which I have a reddish-brown die for.   Thanks for your thoughts.
