DHTowerRoof

Creamcheese

The directions make putting the tower roof sections together so easy but I had a very difficult time because of the angle and the fact that each piece was supposed to be glued above the bottom tower base. I finally came up with a way to address this by using a paper towel cardboard tube as a support for the tiny roof top piece and I raised the bottom base with scrap wood that raised it to the correct level where I had to glue each roof piece to. It worked although I'm sure others have their own methods to getting this put together. I took this photo just to show you what I did!

Thanks for the pic!  Ingenious idea!  Wish I would have thought of that when I was fighting with the San Fran tower roof.  :/

Great idea! When I built the roof like this for the McKinley, first I changed it to a pointed peak, then I used a big funnel as a gluing form.

Thanks for your positive comments on my idea!  I did not realize that this problem is common in some of the Greenleaf construction projects.   I have to figure out now if I want to change the top to a pointed peak since I am thinking about placing a weathervane on top of the roof somewhere.
