New Studio

Deb

I use every bit of storage space possible, even the door. The sewing room is right across the hall so it's easy to take two steps and start something new.

This house must be huge. You have 2 workrooms, Bruce has one too and 2 lofts. Do houses there have basements too? What a joy for you to stretch out and relax and get inspired and create.

The house is really big Selkie and that's been a blessing too. We'd been living for years in a split level ranch that was dark and dreary so moving here with all these windows and the open floor plan made me feel as if someone had uncaged my heart. The really wonderful thing is that most people don't like living this far out in the desert so the giant, open concept houses here cost less than the house we were living in that was half the size. It's another way that our move to Arizona has helped bring me back to life.

There aren't any basements in houses here so everything is up and open. The newer houses are "modern adobe" made of concrete blocks with a stucco overlay and tile roofs. They're gorgeous and so cool to live in. With the open floor plan, I can get around so much easier and the light just spills in thru the windows with joyous abandon!
