In order to make the bedroom I had to make out of cardboard the bathroom divider wall, the ceiling of the bedroom and the outer chimney wall all with one piece of cardboard, adding two side pieces to fill in where the roof would have been. I treated this like a room box and cut out a doorway and fitted a door made from the original piece of card veneered with the off cuts of my partners planking from the boat that he is building and using fabric for the hinge. I then veneered the rough edges around the recess and cut the door frame slightly smaller on the hallway side so that the door fitted snugly in the recess. I then put in the ceiling paper, the coving, glued only on the roof side, the centre lights and once I had fixed the box in place I put in the skirting on the dividing wall to add strength.
