Weathervane, detail shot

welcomehomeminis

The weathervane which sits atop the sugar shack's vented cupola was fashioned from a silver-plate maple-leaf pin that I bought at a garage sale (finely soldered-on pin removed, and back smoothed—with great difficulty!), a couple of different types of florists' wire, a tiny hose I kept for years "just in case" I might find a need for it, and some jewelry findings.

And a lot of patience. Like all mini projects, I thought this one would take about an hour, and it took about three.

It works, by the way. I don't think the wind would really turn it, because it's so tiny, but a hand or big puff of breath can.
