"Érabière Aucoin," literally, means "the Aucoins' maple-sugaring business." And of course the more common term, among small businesses especially, is "sugar shack," so the Aucoins combined both their native and adopted languages into their business name and logo.

The sign was made by photoshopping an image of a maple syrup jug into broad shades of grey and overlaying it with their logo in orange, then adding a frame; once the whole thing was printed out, I gave the letters and the frame several coats of clear nail polish to make them pop off the surface like embossed, lacquered metal.
