And here is the finished garden. I filled up the entire space with a half & half coffee grounds & white glue mix. Then I stuck the plants in. They came from a plastic mini wreath that surrounds a candle. Hope the drying time isn't too many weeks!

In your climate, it shouldn't take that long!

For future reference, you might think about cutting a piece of styrofoam or florists' foam to fit the box so as to be able to 1) stick the flowers/bushes into it and 2) need only a thin layer of coffee grounds or tea leaves on top.
