Trolley Rearranged

I found a baggie with Ikea's shelf support silver pegs at Ace one day and bought it on the spur of the moment. So, this morning I remembered about it, and managed to put up the missing third shelf. The rod is missing, though, so I've arranged the other paints like stacked wine bottles instead. I hope they don't fall off when I move the trolley.

This looks very nice and neat. I like it. I really like how you can see the colors of the paints on the can tops when stacked like wine bottles.

Could you use a dowel or one of those small springy curtain rods in place of the rod that is missing? My springy curtain rods are round and have little rubber caps on each end.
