My daughter and I had a go at flocking our own birmans! Mine is the sitting..... Considering it's our first time I think we have done well!

They are really good, especially for a first try! :)

A lot of people use Schleich models as a base, since they are closest to our scale. Even Kerri Pajutee (the artisan who came up with this furring technique) has a second eBay account where she sells furred Schleich minis.

Oh my gosh! These are great! I have a Birman (Mr. P) and a Himalayan (Mr. T) LOL! My Birman has darker coloring, but that same sweet black face with the piercing blue eyes :-)

Thanks all! Steve, my daughter (14) emailed Kerri Pajutee unbeknownst to me, asking if she could commission a birman based on a cat we lost at the beginning of the year. He was my baby and only 18mths so it was pretty devastating. My daughter offered to pay US$120 for it for my Christmas present. She was going to rope in her brother (12) and my nephew (18 and lives with us) to help her pay. Unfortunately Kerri came back and told her that she doesn't do commissions and usually only does one of each animal just as a hobby. She did however send Caitlin a free tutorial on how to do it. My daughter told me at this stage - I was blown away at the beautiful email she had initially sent to Kerri. Very humbling. But anyway, that is how we did these - following those instructions. Thanks all - we have a Maine Coon also but won't be attempting to flock one of her. My daughter may continue but I'm happy with just the one attempt! :)
