Mary Engelbreit Themed Arthur - inside

Here's the inside of the house as I received it. It's very Mary Engelbreit, but a bit busy for my taste, and since it needs some work I think it'll be easier (and more fun for me) to redo it than try to match what's already done. My idea is to finish the house in shabby chic style, with blues and grays that go well with the exterior, and then whoever ends up with it (if I don't keep it for myself!) can still embellish with Mary Engelbreit inspired furniture and doodads.

I feel a little bad straying from the original builder's vision, but I know I'll have more fun this way...

Somebody put a lot of work into this. It's hard to believe someone would let this go.

By all means redo this to your liking, but I would keep the kitchen with the red checked floor as is. It reminds me of a kitchen from the 1950's.

Those stairs are blinding. 

I think the exterior is really special...it seems to be someone's homage to Mary Englebreit - while the interior really is very Mary Englebreit (which is not  my cup of tea, but perfectly presentable). The exterior is really fun...still cannot believe this was a throw away house.
