Scratch built Victorian bed

fov

Here's the bed I came up with, inspired by this photo I found with Google. It's made out of a filigree from the jewelry section at Michaels, a package of Houseworks legs (used upside down!), and basswood I had on hand.

I've posted a tutorial for this bed on my blog here.

This bed is so beautiful. Love the filigree, the use of the legs for posts and even how the wood is stained. Thanks for sharing the how-to. But, alas, even with a tutorial it would be impossible for me to achieve this level of outstanding craftsmanship.

So gorgeous! I'll have to keep an eye out for large filigree necklace parts to maybe try this in 1:12 scale. Looking forward to the tutorial.

Thanks, all. :)

thriftymini, I'm sure you could make one! It looks fancier than it is. The trickiest part was figuring the best order to attach the pieces in so they'd have enough surface area to bond to each other. The stain is just some Minwax English Chestnut brushed on with a paintbrush, then wiped off with a paper towel.
