Precarious mock up

Myangela

Got the grouting done, still working on lighting, but was inspired by a bathroom on Houzz.com and wanted to try to duplicate it. Their vanity had wrought iron legs, mine are brass. Haven't decided if this is actually going to work, but I've spent a lot of time trying to make it work. Spent most of the time making those freaky/funky table legs. Made the tissue box and soap dispenser today, during drying times. The mirror is a silver frame that I painted with brass acrylic paint and put a piece of mirror in. I even added the exposed pipe under the counter! So, what do you think? Is it too much of a departure from the rest of the house? The green bedroom with white bed and window seat is on it's left, the nautical/artist studio bedroom with balcony is to its right. The only other structures in this room will be the toilet and a glassed in shower, both will be on the opposite wall from the sink.

I think real houses have all kinds of different rooms reflecting their occupants interests. In a big house it makes sense, whereas in a small cottage there are (usually) fewer people. If you are happy with it, then do it. It looks great :)

Debora is right. This room is fabulous, and that marble is the perfect touch. Having the vanity be so detailed and different is a good idea, since this room will be able to be inspected. It needs these extra touches available to inspect, I think! The faucet and knobs fit right in with the sleek and modern look of the sink. Wonderful job; just love it!

Love the tile work !! [ OMG did you individually cut the tiny squares? ] and I recognize the frame I one in my European Castle style house.
