Kitchen

Myangela

I recently submitted a picture of the kitchen to Miniature Collectors magazine because they were asking for readers' contributions for an upcoming issue. Along with my submission I related the story of how I actually got involved with this little house. The editor replied that they want to use the kitchen in their theme issue, but, they'd really like to feature the story in "The Hearts of Miniature" section. So, would I rewrite my original submission, and send a second one later that would include a picture of Gloria when she gets her dollhouse.

I rewrote the blurb for the kitchen submission, I'd really like to know what you think, you have all been so supportive, and I value your opinion.

Here it what I wrote.

This remodeled kitchen is in a house that is being reconstructed and refurbished after ten plus years in storage. The kitchen was relocated into the heart of the home. It has been updated with new custom made cabinetry, a farmhouse sink with updated fixtures, interior lighting in the new glass front upper cabinets, new wood flooring, and granite counter-tops, with a beveled edge. Glass cook top/range, embossed ceiling, roman shades, and custom pendant lighting over a multi-functioning island, including new bar stools. I have fabricated everything I mentioned. I did purchase the refrigerator, dishwasher, pots, pans, and dish-ware. Although I have been an interior design consultant, this is my first experience with dollhouses. This little house has a new lease on life, and so do I!

That's great! Both that you will be featured and what you wrote. :) This is an amazing kitchen. Definately one of my favorites. I love all the realism. Its very well done. For a first dollhouse it's pretty remarkable, and I'd say you've got the knack!

I love this house, the kitchen, and what you wrote is great. I am SO excited to see you getting recognition for this project! It was already special due to the care and love you've put into it for Gloria, and having it published is just the cherry on top. Congratulations, Amy! Wonderful news!!!

Thank you all so much! I'm excited. The editor doesn't know yet what issue will have the kitchens featured, they are currently working on the December issue, so it will be sometime next year. I'll submit the second article after Gloria gets her house, they'd like a picture of her with it! I know that will mean a lot to her, too! In the meantime, I'm gonna need another house! Any suggestions?

Hmmm... which house to work on next? Do you want to stay with Dura-Craft or try another brand? I'm partial to DC houses anyway, but I'd love to see what you do on the San Franciscan, or your spin on the Heritage. ANY house you work on will be amazing, for sure!
