Color Scheme Proof of Concept

I have been cheating. I admit it. ;)

I should be finishing the sanding and prep on the entire house, but I could not resist giving the detachable tower roof some stain to see how difficult it is to do 4 adjoining stain colors. The shingles are water-based stain and the darker trim uses older oil-based stains which are leftover from decades old projects restoring antique furniture. As oil and water don't mix well, it was surprisingly easy to do the dark trim without it running onto the previously stained shingles. I just wiped off any minor spillage off the shingles before it dried for an almost completely error-free staining exercise.

Now to finish sanding the rest of the house and begin staining and painting!
