Shingle Staining - Proof of Concept

So I originally intended to stain the shingles without any variation, but then I happened across a picture of a 1:144 BH that had something similar to this. Three coats of stain and one clear coat - all without stain running onto an adjoining shingle? Easy, right?? ;)
