The Porch in/of my dreams!

Myangela

The grout is white, and I may add a gray tint to the matte sealer, just haven't decided yet. I did seal each tile after I cut them, to minimize buckling. It worked really well. How do I know? Well, one tile that I trimmed to fit, in my rush to finish before I had to leave the house for a long overdue hair appointment, didn't get sealed on one edge, buckled a bit, enough to dislodge the layers of Mod Podge, acrylic paint, another coating of Mod Podge! But, it was salvageable because it didn't tear and I just glued it back in place. All is well!

Also, porch is not square, just like everything else! And I needed more volume under the matte board tiles in order to flush with the door threshold, so I ended up cutting up a piece of the particle board that was originally the second floor to the house when it arrived for me to work on. My husband and I agreed that we'd have to replace it because it was so warped. Of course we kept it, and it was just the right depth, so this morning I cut a piece off using a templet I made of the wacky front porch. Added bonus, I always love those, don't you?, I could assemble this work on my work table instead of trying to do all this within the confined space defined by existing walls, railing, ceiling created by the second floor balcony, etc. although the board is still slightly warped, not to the point that a good glue and some weighting down during "cure" won't fix, right!
