Small bedroom: Futon chair-bed, outstretched

We used to know someone with one of these inexpensive foam chairs that can fold out into a bed. I found this adorable fabric and decided every mini-teenager should have a squishy chair in their bedroom that folds out into a crash-pad for friends, so I made the little futon chair-bed and showed it to my kid.

She had no idea what it was, and insisted she'd never seen one in her life.

"So-and-so has one in their basement! You used to play on it when you were little, and I have pictures of you on it!!" I said to her.

"They must have gotten rid of it years ago, 'cause it's not in their house now, and I definitely feel like I've never seen such a thing in my life," she said back to me.

My, how time flies. In the pictures, she's only about four, so I guess it has been a while...

But she likes the mini version, anyway.
